You are invited to an afternoon of fun and fellowship on Tuesday, June 4 at 4:30 PM!  Join members of the three area Rotary clubs and the Connecting With our Indigenous Neighbours committee on the property of Ernie Calihoo, the last member of the Michel Band to remain on their traditional ancestral lands just north of Spruce Grove by the Villeneuve Airport.  You may remember that Ernie's daughter, Maureen Calihoo Ligtvoet, (pictured with Arlaine and Past President Chris) visited our club last May to talk about the Michel band's struggle for recognition under the law and the particular traditions and lifestyle they enjoyed farming in the local area.

There will be a big bonfire, wagon rides, and time for relaxing and visiting in a most beautiful setting, using the outdoor facilities of the Spruce Grove Archery Club.  The event is being organized as a pot luck, an email was sent out earlier today with details and an opportunity to sign up to bring a dish.
