Jack Haase was doing some research in the Tribune archives and came across an interesting piece from April 17, 1997.   (David Stoeffler gave us permission to share it with all.)    We all miss meeting onsite each week and this article gives us a glimpse of how much fun it was to gather in one room together!   LINK to article.

Our Zoom Meetings are certainly not the same but they keep us connected until we can celebrate being back together in one room.  President Andy certainly did not think his year would be sitting in front of his computer trying to keep 70+ members each week engaged online.  We all did not want this for Andy's year but he has stepped up along with Rob Palmberg and Sarah Arendt Beyer to make the Zoom meetings fun and as seamless as possible.  We have had great programs from all over the country, thanks to Rob Palmberg and even pulled off an awesome Christmas Program thanks to Dean Dickinson and Katie Berkedal.  When Rotarians are given a challenge they answer...with ingenuity and flexibility.

Catherine Kolkmeier, New Norm Chair and the NEW NORM committee have been meeting to come up with ways to connect with our fellow Rotarians and figure out what our new norm will be after covid is behind us. They have researched breakout rooms as a tool we could use.  This week at our annual meeting we will be voting on a few items and we will have a fellowship. No formal program planned.  The committee will then introduce us to breakout rooms.   This will be a learning experience for all of us so don't be afraid to login and learn with us!!
