In June 1999, a year after I joined the staff of Rotary International, I attended my first convention. It was then that I first witnessed the global power of Rotary and made my first batch of Rotary friends. And it was then that I was introduced to Singapore for a second time.

Each year the Scholarship Committee of the Liberty Rotary Club is tasked with finding students in Liberty Public Schools who exemplify Rotary ideals. Through essays and interviews, the
committee looks for students who are committed to serving others, promote integrity, and are leaders in their school and community. The Liberty Rotary Club’s largest event, the Butt Buster Barbecue, funds the clubs investment in local youth. This includes the $22,500 that is awarded to three top Liberty School District Seniors.
