WWI Memorial Park Hosting Live Broadcast of Grand Opening – April 16

Many of you know that I have the honor of serving on a national commission established to commemorate the end of World War I at its 100th anniversary.  The commission established many educational and commemorative programs over a multi-year period.

The final project is the completion of a national memorial in Washington DC honoring the sacrifices of those who served.   The memorial consists of an urban park and monumental sculpture of 37 figures telling a story of “A Soldier’s Journey.”  The sculpture is still under construction, but the park is completed.

The grand opening is at 9:00 am CT, Friday, April 16.   I’m unable to attend in person but will be watching the broadcast, and I expect it will be an exciting and moving event.  I invite you to also watch.  You can learn more and register at   first colors registration - World War I Centennial (worldwar1centennial.org)
