Our speaker on Friday was Zachary Brown, 5th year PhD candidate in the Department of Environmental Earth System Science (EESS) at Stanford University. We learned about phytoplankton and its role in high-latitude marine ecosystems, as well as how it, along with the broader environment, might adapt and evolve to global climate change.
