Megumi Yoshinaga
Rotary Internaional Scholar

This week our speaker will be Megumi Yoshinaga our Rotary Global Scholar. Since the funding overhaul at the Rotary Foundation around how they bestow scholarships, what we used to call Ambassadorial Scholars are now funded through Global Grants. Once again it is a pleasure to have a visiting Rotary Global Scholar in our District make a presentation to our club.   Megumi is now a first year graduate student in East Asian Studies at Stanford. She was honored as the University Student of the Year in Japan for producing the first-ever Muslim fashion show to raise awareness and help refugees in Syria. Megumi was also the youngest Youth Leader of Japan in the APEC CEO Summit in 2013 and G20 Summit in 2012. She has a love of language speaking her native Japanese along with varying degrees of French, Arabic, Latin, Chinese, English, and sign language. She likes traveling, playing golf and enjoys a well done Japanese tea ceremony.
