ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Red Cross Disaster Relief – Had shelter open for 2 days due to recent storm.  Red Cross started helping at 9 A.M. the day of the storm.  Many came to the shelter to have meals, charge cell phones.  Some stayed overnight.  Still doing damage assessment.  Let Red Cross know if you know of someone who has a need.  Also need volunteers to help with damage assessment.  Let Ed know if you have time to help.
 
50/50 Raffle – Mark McHugh $330 in the pot with 43 cards.  Tom Celona had the winning ticket, but did not pick the Queen of Hearts.
 
Dues are now due!  Need money in ASAP.  Cut-off date is next week.
 
Clambake Judy Earle – 30 people signed up.  This Sunday at 5 P.M. at Judy Earle’s house.  BYOB.  Set-up on Saturday and/or Sunday 4 P.M.  Adults only party due to pool and alcoholic drinks.
 
Club was awarded $1,000 for Dictionary grant.
 
Janis Constantine – Gourmet Gala – Will be sending an email to all Rotarians re: Corporate sponsors.  Free money.  Asking each Rotarian for 1 good corporate sponsor lead.  Send to Janis.  Will have a mailing going out next month.  Levels $250, $500, $1,000.
 
 
HAPPY BUCKS was hosted by Steve Tilley and collecting was Chad Bjorklund.
 
Dennis Sleister – Grandchild #1 jumped off diving board.  Grandchild #2 arrived late last Thursday.  Congrats!
 
Bobby DeGregorio - Have power now.  Thank you Ken Quaranto for helping clean up property he was listing that was damaged by the storm.
 
Steve Hinger – Former Rotarian Jeff Vaillancourt bailed him out with trailer size generator at work.  Was able to keep his business running.
 
Gordon Wilmot – Got to use his natural gas generator for the first time.
 
Bill Palmisciano – For Harry Truman – dropped bomb in Hiroshima on this day in history.
 
Ed McDonough – Help your neighbor during the storm.
 
Tom “Delinquent” Sweeney – Excellent dedication to Dan Pendergast at Cornerstone.
 
Danielle Warren – Had fun playing golf with Paula Hurd.  Even out-drove her once!
 
Michael Grande – Home generator ran for 30 hours over the storm.
 
Dennis Sleister – Baby Trivia: 1,000 babies born at Women and Infants during month of July.  8,600 total for the year.

Worked for the institute on Religion & Public Policy.  Worked with many dignitaries.
 
Met John Travolta – knees buckled.  Lost all self-respect.
 
Went to an animal reserve in South Africa – rogue elephant.  Were able to get away but it was close!
