So why is there a National memorial to the founder of RI, Roger Williams?

The English came to this New World (for the English) with a variety of hopes and dreams.

Roger Williams came into the middle of all of that and created the first place with real religious freedom.

That personal freedom depended on the complete separation of church and state.

That same freedom also empowered the individual in the political realm, giving voice to the individual
