Free Footie BBQ

On Wednesday June 21st we will be hosting with our third Free Footie BBQ. Where members of our club will be cooking and serving bbq'd burgers, drinks and snacks for the athletes, volunteers and family members of the tournament. This year it will be held at Belmont School (the same as last year) located at 3301 132a Ave NW.

For those of you who do not know, Free Footie is an Edmonton initiative, where children from Edmonton and area are given the opportunity to play in a fun fueled but competitive soccer tournament. They are also supplied with jerseys, and other equipment from generous sponsors from around the city. In the past few years the tournament has hosted over 2500 members, all of which are served and greeted by the members of our club.

The exact times of the tournament are not yet available but we are looking for 16 members or outside volunteers to sign up for an amazing day. The tournament is on a Wednesday and last for the majority of the day so we will be looking for volunteers that can commit to a full day of cooking and fun. There will be other jobs that are available to be signed up for closer to the date which may require a few hours before or after the tournament, and those will be specified and posted mid may.
