I had the pleasure of joining the Rotary Club of Edmonton last summer, and was asked by President Brian to step into the Secretary role for the club in December. I've enjoyed our virtual meetings, and have met a few members for coffee or at the casino fundraiser, but I'm looking forward to meeting more members once we are back to in-person meetings.

I am originally from Calgary, and moved to Edmonton in 2013 to attend Grant MacEwan. In 2014, I graduated with a business diploma in Risk Management and Insurance, and in 2015 I moved to Grande Prairie to join Aon Reed Stenhouse as a commercial insurance broker. While in Grande Prairie I became a Kinsman with the local Kin club, eventually serving as club treasurer, and also helped run the first 2 seasons of the Bear Creek Folk Music Festival, serving as the festival’s Cash Manager.

In the summer of 2017 I was asked to spend a few months assisting in Aon’s Whitehorse office, and in the fall accepted a longer-term position in Whitehorse. In the spring of 2018 I joined the Whitehorse Rotary Club and was later elected as Director, International for the 2019-2020 Rotary Year. I also organized the club's 2019 summer meeting program, which was hosted at members' homes and businesses due to our regular hotel meeting location being fully booked during Yukon's busy summer tourism season.

During my time in Whitehorse I had the opportunity to visit and explore many small communities in Yukon, northern BC, southeast Alaska and NWT's Mackenzie Delta region.

After 2 years in Whitehorse I accepted a transfer back to Edmonton in late 2019, where I joined Aon’s Public Sector practice as a Senior Account Executive. I work with clients across Alberta, NWT and Yukon, specializing in healthcare, Indigenous and real estate. My job is to work with clients to find the right commercial insurance solutions for their operations' needs and risk tolerance--this has been particularly challenging over the last few years as the insurance market has hardened and large catastrophe claims have increased. But it is still a great job with new and interesting things to do everyday.

Outside of work and Rotary I enjoy photography, playing soccer and participating in amateur astronomy. I’ve been an active member and volunteer with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada since 1997 and continue to work with the national organization and local Edmonton Centre.   Click on "Read more" to see some photos.
