Can you picture going to Hawaii and back in a few minutes? With your help, students at Northview schools will soon be able to do just that.
Rotarians are invited to join City of Olathe employees and community members in painting a large, colorful US map on the Northview Elementary playground. The 20’ x 40’ map will be used to teach math, social studies, science and history as well as geography. For example, using sidewalk chalk students can create a scale of miles for the map, label the state capitals, major rivers, the number of electoral votes per state, the date the state entered the union, trace the Lewis and Clark expedition, etc.
Grab a paint brush or roller and join us for this fun volunteer project! This is be the third playground map completed by Olathe Rotary members and friends.
