Childhood Literacy

Earlier this year, the Providence Rotary Club's Charities Foundation donated $65,000 to provide literacy advancement tools for more than 5,000 elementary and middle school students in the Providence public schools. These tools include Renaissance Learning Inc.'s MyON Reader (https://www.myon.com/index.html), an extensive digital library matched to each student's interests, grade and reading level.  Our speaker, Diane Houle, is from the company and will be discussing how the reader transforms the lives of students.

Childhood literacy is the primary focus of our club's philanthropy and volunteerism, including our upcoming gala on October 26 "Legends for Literacy."  For more information visit https://providencerotary.org/page/legends-for-literacy-the-event .
