Katia Gomez, Educate2Envision
Starting a non-profit organization at the age of 22

In 2015 Katia was selected as a Global Ashoka Fellow - chosen as one of the top social entrepreneurs working in Latin America. During college Katia served as the youngest District Chair for CARE USA, speaking to politicians in Washington DC and locally about the importance of empowering women and girls to conquer global poverty. She has been named one of “10 Heroes for International Day of the Girl” by TakePart.com and one of the Top 12 “Amazing Young Entrepreneurs Doing Good” by Forbes. She was also named by Newsweek as one of the “Top 25 Women Under 25 in the World to Watch.” She has been a featured speaker at youth conferences worldwide including: Millennium Campus Conference and Women Deliver International Conference. Katia earned her Master of Public Health from Boston University and her B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, San Diego.

Under Katia’s leadership, Educate2Envision is spearheading a new initiative, Adelante Coffee, to bring specialty Honduran coffee, processed by rural youth in coffee-producing communities, to the US market. Profits will support the launch of additional secondary schools across Honduras.
