Why a Warming Station?

  • 558 homeless individuals in Collin County (Jan 2019)
  • 395 temporarily sheltered
    • 163 unsheltered (105 in Plano)
    • 191 identified were children
  • PISD reported 408 students experiencing homelessness

 The Collin County Homeless Coalition created POWS to provide emergency shelter for homeless during Dangerous Cold Weather Events. Guest provided with a meal and place to sleep overnight.
