Serve the homeless and become a Plano Overnight Warming Station (POWS) Volunteer!
Attend the POWS Volunteer Orientation Session.
Additional Detail:
- Volunteers will need to also register through the link below AND complete the Volunteer Signup.
- Go To pows.collincares.org/training to Sign Up for Volunteer Training (only attend one)
- (If a new volunteer, please also complete the "Volunteer Signup" information)
- There are two modules to be covered during the training and should take less than an hour.
- Safe from Harm (Salvation Army required Safe Environment Training)
- POWS Check-In to Check-Out: Policies and Procedures
- Background Checks and The Salvation Army's Safe from Harm training must be renewed every 2 years.
The Collin County Homeless Coalition created POWS to provide emergency shelter for homeless during Dangerous Cold Weather Events. Guest provided with a meal and place to sleep overnight.

Must sign the Rotary Waiver & Release form if not done already.
