It is always nice when Rotarians from other Clubs visit yours.  Dr. Ken Pollard frequents our Club when he is making up a meeting.  He calls Duncanville home, where his wife served as teacher for several years.  In fact, she was my English teacher back in the 80's and is the reason I became a journalist!

Getting to speak with Dr. Pollard one-on-one today is extra special for me because today I learned something very "special" about him.

Donning a RI Major Donor Pin, I gave him a second look and discovered he is on a perfect streak in Rotary.

Dr. Pollard has never missed a meeting in the last 47 years that he has been in Rotary.  He joined in 1968 by a personal invitation (personal invitation is where it is at in Rotary!).  Seven years later, he served from 1975-76 as President of his Club.  Dallas Trinity (formerly Oak Cliff Rotary Club) is Dr. Pollard's Rotary home Club.  But we are so glad he chooses to come see us from time to time.

It is a great privilege and honor to meet outstanding Rotarians like Dr. Pollard.  Thank you sir for your Service Above Self!

(I got so enthralled with our conversation that I forgot to take a picture.  Will catch one next time he visits!)
