At our meeting on March 6, 2020, President Mark Rojek welcomed the 43 members and 6 guests. President Mark asked anyone celebrating a March birthday to please stand and be recognized. A 'thank you' goes to the Krassas Event Center for providing the delicious dessert for our members!
 
Rotarian Paula Mastroianni provided the Invocation.
 
Congratulations to PP Dan Matthews for having the winning 50/50 ticket worth $43.00.
 
Club Secretary Julia Dick then welcomed the following guests to the meeting:  Jeff Graham (speaker); Sarah Fiddler (Stark State organizational rep); Kelly Klein (guest of Darin Nissley); Brynn Pelger (daughter of President Elect Drew Pelger); Sue Marzano (guest of Tim Furbay and  an incoming member sponsored by Tim); Derek Gordon (guest of Paula Mastroianni).
 
Rotarian Nick Perini took to the podium to tell the members about a new scholarship provided by Nick's firm, Beese, Fulmer, and the Canton Chamber of Commerce. To view a flyer with details of the requirements for this scholarship, please follow this LINK
 
 
President Elect Drew Pelger, along with his daughter Brynn, took the opportunity to fill everyone in on the "Polar Bear Plunge" in which they participated on Saturday, February 29th. Their 'plunge' was part of PE Drew's commitment to his Charitable Fund Drive.
 
 
 
 
 
Assistant Secretary Paula Mastroianni was asked to fill in for a traveling Vice President Mark Clendenin. Paula welcomed and introduced the speaker for the meeting, Jeff Graham, Superintendent of Canton City Schools. Jeff spoke on the "State of the Schools, Vision, Mission".
 
 
 
 
President Mark concluded the meeting with the following announcement:
  • next week's speaker will be Kelli Viscounte, Founder and President of "Love Our Community"

  • as a reminder, the meeting scheduled for March 20th will be the Paul Harris Fellow presentation. Please plan to attend, if possible, to recognize and appreciate those who have contributed, outright or cumulatively, or in whose name has been contributed, a gift of $1000 or more to the Rotary International Foundation, via the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, PolioPlus Partners or the Humanitarian Grants program. A Paul Harris Fellowship is the highest honor a Rotarian can receive.
