During the January 10, 2020 meeting, President Mark Rojek welcomed the 56 members and 8 guests to the meeting. President Mark asked anyone with a January birthday to please stand and be recognized.  He then informed the members that everyone would be receiving ice cream compliments of Rotarian Bill Liber, who is celebrating his birthday on January 31st.  President Mark told the members about an email the Rotary office received from PP Dan Fuline. PP Dan informed us he was still undergoing additional testing at the Cleveland Clinic.  There is a "Get Well" card available to sign for PP Dan. President Mark then thanked Rotarian Becky Clark for the outstanding work she did to make the first "Sweet" Treat raffle auction such a huge success.  Thank you Becky and thank you to everyone who participated!

Congratulations to guest John Bartlebaugh for having the winning 50/50 ticket worth $55.00.  *He graciously donated his winnings back to the Club.

President Mark Rojek and PP Curt Werren, Chairman of the Canton Rotary Endowment Fund, welcomed Darcy Downey, Regional Executive Director from "Prevent Blindness Ohio" and presented her a check in the amount of $5,000. Prevent Blindness is dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight through the wise investment of community support. Prevent Blindness has served more than 800,000 Ohioans this year through outreach and education designed to connect those in need to critical sight-saving resources.
 
 
 
Vice President Mark Clendenin then introduced the speaker for the meeting, Dr. Joel Elvery, an Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, who gave his take on the National/Regional economic update and outlook.
 
 
 
President Mark concluded the meeting with the following announcements:

  • thank you again to Rotarian Bill Liber for providing the ice cream;
