During the September 13, 2019 meeting, President Mark Rojek welcomed the 48 members and 3 guests to the meeting. President Mark relayed very sad news regarding the passing of longtime Canton Rotarian Tom Sinclair. Tom passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 after sustaining injuries in a fall earlier in the week. Everyone was asked to sign the sympathy card for Tom's wife, Jean, and family.
 
Rotarian Jennie George gave the Invocation.
 
The greeter for the meeting was Brad Carpenter.  PP John Werren worked the attendance table.
 
Congratulations to Rotarian Tim Furbay for having the winning 50/50 ticket worth $38.00.
 
Club Secretary Julia Dick welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Gerry Radcliffe, Nadine McIlwain and Lois DiGiamoco (speakers).
 
Rotarian Steve Fettman introduced the speakers for the meeting Gerry Radcliffe and Nadine McIlwain co-authors of "African Americans of Canton, Ohio: Treasures of Black History". Also introducing the authors was Lois DiGiamoco.
 
 
 
President Mark concluded the meeting with the following announcements:
  • next week's speakers will be Molly Feghali and Angela Finding with a presentation on the Cleveland Partnership True2u Mentoring Program.
  • Don't forget the Canton Rotary Oktoberfest, which is our largest fundraiser, will take place next Thursday, September 19th. If you still need to purchase pre-sale tickets at $25, please see Lauri or Barb on your way out.
  • Vice President Mark Clendenin is seeking volunteers to help at the "Stark County's Drug Take Back Day" on September 21st from 10 am - 2 pm. *Please see story above for further details or contact Mark at 330.312.4713 if you are interested in volunteering.
