Marion Coblentz grew up on a quaint dairy farm on the east side of Hartville, Ohio. Growing up Amish instilled hard work and a love of community at a young age. Before settling down with his wife Nancy in Hartville, Marion hitchhiked across the country learning different trades. He spent time building bridges in Florida, working on an oil rig in west Texas, and also worked a mason and carpenter before finding his passion in his role of Manager at the Hartville Flea Market. Along the way, he also managed Hartville Arabian Farms and the door and window department at Hartville Hardware. As businesses progressed and transformed, Marion was able to see more potential in the Hartville Flea Market. He helped redesign and transform the old Hartville Kitchen building into the successful Hartville Antique Mall, which he managed for 7 years and which was on the same grounds as the Hartville Flea Market. During those 7 years, he helped to develop and design the new Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market. In 2002, the newly completed Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market opened its doors to the community. Marion has enjoyed working alongside and mentoring the shop owners and watching many of them develop successful businesses. Marion enjoys humanitarian work, locally and internationally, making frequent mission trips to Port au Prince, Haiti. Marion and Nancy enjoy family time together, especially with their 14 grandchildren. Currently Marion, his son Seth, and their team are undertaking a new project to update the Hartville Marketplace to make it into a new retail shopping destination.
