Happy Thanksgiving.

I was reading up a bit on the original Thanksgiving that occurred in what is now Massachusetts.  While there is some disagreement over some of the details, the long and short of it is that the settlers and the Indian tribe assembled, shared a fine meal, and built friendships. Honestly, that’s all I need to know about this holiday.

Sadly, Rotary wasn’t around back then. If it were, they would have had the incredible opportunity to meet weekly and share fine meals and build better friendships, just as we do. I guess they were just a little ahead of their time.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all my Canton Rotary friends and their families a blessed Thanksgiving.  I hope you take the time to appreciate all the blessings that have been provided to you.  It is easy in the hustle of the day to forget how fortunate we really are and how greatly we impact others with our charitable activities.

Don't forget that there is no meeting the Friday after Thanksgiving, but I look forward to seeing everyone on December 3rd.

Happy Thanksgiving,

President Mark
