GERRY A. RADCLIFFE, a retired Registered Nurse and Community Health Educator. She graduated from the University Akron with a bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. While at the university, she was a member of Sigma theta tau, and established off-campus study groups with minority nursing students. She also received a nursing diploma from Massillon community Hospital School of Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Community Health Education from Kent State University in 1982.Gerry was employed for 23 years by the North Canton Medical Foundation, a large Ambulatory Group Practice, as Nursing Director and Nursing Administrator. After retiring for a short three months, gerry returned to the work force by joining the American Heart Association as the Cultural Health Initiative Manager and Nurse Educator. She also served as an adjunct faculty member for Malone University where she taught for 5 years. She is a Community Health Consultant, Grant Writer and Health Educator. Gerry most recent retirement was in 2016. She was employed by Lifecare Family Health and Dental Center as a Certified Application Counselor. Gerry served 2 years as President of the Stark Carroll District Nursing Association. Was one of the founding members of The Mended Heart Association, and the local chapter of the Arthritis foundation, a volunteer for the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society, the Juvenile Diabetes foundation and the ALS CARE PROJECT, Lou Gehrig’s Disease. As a local history buff, she is a frequent contributor of local Black History to the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum.
She has served as a member of several local service organization, including the United Way Health council, The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton Board of Directors, the North Canton Medical Foundation Board of Directors, Prescription Assistance Network, President of the Board. The Massillon Cultural Diversity Committee, Massillon Public Library and Access Health Operation Council of Stark County. Massillon Urban League Board Member. Gerry assisted many local grass roots organizations, agencies and churches with healthcare education.

NADINE MCILWAIN is a former Ohio public school educator. As an educator, she taught History and Government at Timken Senior High School in Canton, Ohio for twenty (20) years before becoming a Principal at Stanton Middle School in Alliance, Ohio and at Allen Classical Traditional Academy in Dayton, Ohio. After retiring, McIlwain was encouraged to use her skills and knowledge of curriculum and instruction by serving on the Canton City Schools Board of Education. She served for twelve year as a member of that board and four years as board president.McIlwain is the author of several articles and co-author of two books, From Ghetto To God: The Incredible Journey of NFL Star, Reggie Rucker, co-authored with Reggie Rucker, and published in 2001 and My Father’s Child, with Fredricka Early Stewart published in 2006. In addition to writing, she has a passion for golf, which lead her to become a founding member of The First Tee of Canton. Presently, she served Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greater Stark County Urban League. She considers her study tours to Ghana, West Africa and Israel as highlights of her professional career. Another highlight was opening her home to five Japanese teachers who came to the United States from 1989 through 2003 to teach in schools where McIlwain was employed.
