At the February 15, 2019 Rotary meeting, Rotarian Stephanie Werren (sponsor) introduced the newest member to the Rotary Club of Canton, Darin Nissley. Stephanie had the following to say about Darin:

Darin Nissley has called Canton home now for 25 years, moving here in 1994 to get married to his wife Ramona who is an RN at Mercy Medical Center.

Darin is the founder and current Executive Director of the Lighthouse, an urban youth outreach center located in southeast Canton just one-half block from the STEAM Academy at Hartford Middle School. The Lighthouse offers a variety of programs to approximately 150 youth, each year, who live in the surrounding neighborhood.

Darin also served as the Youth Pastor at First Mennonite Church (also located in the southeast) for 20 years until 2014 when he went full-time with the Lighthouse. He is also a Leadership Stark County Graduate - member of the 29th class.

Darin and Ramona live in Southeast Canton, less than one block from the Lighthouse. They have three children Tori, Madi and Jacob. They will be empty-nesters within the next year and are curious as to what this next phase of life will look and feel like.
