When I joined Rotary twenty plus years ago, I volunteered to serve on the committee for the Philomatheon Society for the Blind. It has been one of the most rewarding committees I have served since joining Rotary and I’m proud to say I am still a part of it.

The committee has been able to provide services to the Society in the form of providing volunteers to help with their annual Lincoln Highway Garage Sale, their “luncheonette” for their fundraiser, and the annual picnic sponsored by the Rotary Club of Canton.

Other members include Frank Fleischer (who’s father helped start the Philomatheon Society), PP Virginia Neutzling, David Roberts and PP Jack and Alice Barkan.  Ernie Schott has helped the Society’s fundraising efforts with “Philomatheon Days” at Taggart’s Ice Cream.  Ernie generously donates a percentage of the day’s receipts back to the Society.

If you are looking for a committee to serve through the Rotary Club, please see Steve Fettman.

The following Rotarians volunteered their time for this worthwhile Rotary sponsored event...Frank Fleischer, PP Virginia Neutzling, PP Jack Barkan, and Steve Fettman (along with his daughter, Peyton).

Below, please find photo's from the picnic which was held on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
