Since joining Related in 2007, he has served as Project Executive for City Center of CityNorth, the 76-acre mixed use portion of a 144 acre development in Arizona, and for the Grand Avenue Project, a high rise, urban master planned development in Downtown Los Angeles. He is currently the Co. Managing Partner for the Related Santa Clara project, a 239 acre, 9.2 million square foot development in Santa Clara, California.
Prior to joining Related Urban, Eimer was vice president of development for the Westfield Group, where he spearheaded the $440 million redevelopment of one of San Francisco’s landmark mixed-use projects, the new Westfield San Francisco Centre which opened in the fall of 2006. Anchored by Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s and boasting exquisite historical architecture, this iconic development attracted 25 million visitors and generated $600 million in sales during the first full year of operation.
Prior to joining Westfield, Eimer founded his own development and consulting company, Stephen Eimer & Associates, Inc. The firm specialized in master planning and mixed-use development with projects ranging from the entitlement and repositioning of a 230-acre former missile production facility in San Diego, to the management of PG&E Corporation’s wide-ranging portfolio of properties in Northern California.
Other milestone projects Eimer has directed during his career include the development of the architecturally acclaimed Fox Plaza in Los Angeles; the development of the Inn, Links and Residences at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach; the renovation of the Lodge at Pebble Beach; and the development of the $450 million mixed-use portion of Copley Place in Boston.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and a Master of Arts degree in urban studies from Loyola University of Chicago. He has also pursued post-graduate studies in the MBA program at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
