FOUR WAY
TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated
into more than a hundred languages and published in thousands of ways.

Transforming Care Delivery in

Kenya through Rotary

What We’ve Done in the Past:
“Kilifi Kids” Rotarians have designed and implemented high-impact interventions that have provided 35 four-year HS scholarships, outfitted four computer labs, and de-wormed 56,000 kids of intestinal parasites (and dropped infection rates from 32% to 1% today). Since 2006,
we have raised $350,000 through multiple grants from 20+ Rotary clubs in District 6900 and elsewhere.

What We’re Doing Now:
We leverage mobile health innovations and technologies  to decrease  child mortality rates, create operational efficiencies, and save money by transforming the way health facilities communicate with their staff. We are currently outfitting 400+ hospital staff in Kilifi,Kenya with cell phones to track mothers and their kids, monitor child immunizations and antenatal checkups, and streamline emergency care for tens of thousands.

Our Next Chapter: A Turnkey Solution for Africa

Kilifi Kids is building “mHealth” solutions with international Rotary clubs to be cheap, locally-driven, and self-sustaining.  We are creating a cost-effective, high-impact model that we hope to be the largest pilot of its kind in the world.  In the 2013-2014 Rotary year, we expect to double the size of our pilot to 1,000 staffers to cover about 500,000 residents in the Kilifi District.  Our ultimate goal is replicate this model throughout Kenya and with Rotary clubs across the world to improve maternal health and fight child malnutrition for millions.

Where Does Your Rotary Club Fit In?

1.Give Funding: We need $68,000 to expand our pilot to the entire Kilifi District of 1,000 staff members.  It is estimated that we need 10 club partners to make this possible.   Make a pledge by June 1 to be a part of this important work!

2.Collect Cell Phones: We’re working with Interact & Rotaract clubs to recycle cell phones to raise funds and build awareness. Engage community youth with us and work together on a common cause.
