Four Way Test

FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated
into more than a hundred languages and published in thousands of ways.

Vince Dooley: Sports Legend

Vince Dooley was born in Mobile, Alabama and attended McGill Institute for high school before attending Auburn University in college. At Auburn, he played football and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor's Degree. He would return to the university to get a Master's Degree in history later.

Vince Dooley was one of a rare breed of head coach in that he only was a head coach for one university for his entire career. He coached the Georgia Bulldogs for 25 years before finally hanging up his coach's hat. During his time as the head coach of the Bulldogs, he won 6 SEC conference titles, which was an amazing feat for someone with no head coaching experience to accomplish. The biggest prize, however, was in the year of 1980, when Dooley led his team to a National Championship. His entire record as the Georgia Head Coach was 201-77-10, which are mammoth career numbers for most people. He only went 8-10-2 in bowl games, but the many championships that he brought to the program more than made up for any postseason losses.

After Dooley finished his head coaching career, he was promoted to Georgia's Athletic Director, where he successfully turned the Georgia Bulldogs programs into the massively successful athletics programs that they are today. Dooley still works with the Georgia program, and is always willing to help the program in any way necessary.

After he completed his tenure as athletic director, Dooley went on to dabble in many aspects of American society. He tried his hand at politics first by trying to secure the Democratic Party's nomination in the United States Senate in 1986, but was unfortunately not elected. Dooley also began to work with people in publishing children's books that prominently feature Georgia's mascot Hairy Dawg.

Vince Dooley has won many awards in his lifetime, the biggest being the AFCA Coach of the Year award in 1980, the year he led the Bulldogs to their only National Title. He was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1978 and into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Dooley has been honored many times over for his contributions to the sporting world as well.

Vince Dooley has always had coaching in his blood, and he has passed it down to his son, Derek Dooley as well. Derek, in his first season as Tennessee's Head Coach, led the Volunteers to an improbable bowl birth. This just goes to show that the Dooley line has deep roots in not only coaching, but coaching in the best conference in the nation in the SEC.

WHAT ARE SOME FINANCIAL BEST PRACTICES WITH GRANT FUNDS?

Follow your spending plan to distribute and use grant funds for the stated purpose in a timely manner.
Make project-related expenditures by check or other traceable method.
If payments are made electronically by one person, maintain a paper trail showing that the payment was approved by both signatories.
Maintain detailed receipts and record each transaction in a ledger. The ledger should list each transaction, noting the date, amount, and reason for the transaction.
Make sure to share the information so grants run smoothly and funds are secure!

THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR GRANT OVERSIGHT TOP NOTCH!

WHAT IS “EVERY ROTARIAN, EVERY YEAR” ALL ABOUT?

This initiative by the Board of Trustees of The Rotary Foundation:

Encourages EVERY ROTARIAN to participate in a Foundation program that truly makes a difference in the world each and EVERY YEAR, and

Encourages EVERY ROTARIAN to contribute to the Foundation’s Annual Fund at an amount in which they are able, EVERY YEAR.

The Rotary Foundation even has banners for clubs where every member contributes some amount to the Foundation and the annual per capita is US$100 and a banner for clubs where every member contributes at least US$100 per year…..think about what you can do to help us meet our Annual Giving goal…which is the goal to make positive change in the world around us?

IF YOU ARE A PART OF THE “EVERY ROTARIAN, EVERY YEAR” INITIATIVE WE PERSONALLY THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND ITS WORK.
