As part of his CPA practice he has developed a very unique niche of acting as business manager for just about any rock music band associated with San Francisco you can think of- the Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, John Lee Hooker, the Doobie Bros., Journey, the Greg Kihn Bank, Jefferson Airplane and the Jefferson Starship. Don’t miss what will be a fascinating talk on how he established his business, and what life is like at home and on the road with these music industry legends. |

Children's Museum
Sep. 15, 2016
Collette worked in software design as a project leader, game designer, art manager and animator. For more than ten years, she was a key innovator and manager for LucasArts Entertainment Company and helped launch Lucas Learning, a children’s entertainment software company. During her tenure at Lucas Learning, Collette worked with teachers, scientists, and young children to create award winning educational software products. In 2001, Collette left the software industry to raise her two sons. Having children opened her eyes to the need for hands-on experiential learning -- outside of the computer. In 2005, with no funding, she founded the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County when her sons were just four and six years old. For the past eleven years, she has dedicated her time and energy to the creation of a space where children and their caregivers learn in the best way possible – through the power of play. She has lived in Petaluma for the past 18 years with her husband Steve, two teenage sons Russell and Ian, their dog Lucy, and two chickens, Oreo and Olive. |

Rotary International Foundation
Oct. 13, 2016
Jim Flamson first joined the Rotary Club of Calistoga in 1976, and served as Club President in 1999-2000.
At the District level, Jim was a District Club Coordinator for 2 years, followed by 3 years as an Assistant Governor, two of which he served as Chief Assistant Governor to Erna Stevens and Ken Moulton.
In 2010-2011, Jim served Rotary as District Governor.
His passion has always been The Rotary Foundation, serving as Club Foundation Chair for 6 years and now as District Rotary Foundation Chair for 2016-2019. Jim and his wife Kathy have travelled with Rotary on 7 Festival of Brotherhood's, where they saw first hand the good work that can be done when Rotarians and The Rotary Foundation pool their resources.
Jim currently is a CA Registered Tax Preparer, which he has practiced for 43 years. He sold his insurance agency in 2008 so that he could serve Rotary as District Governor.
Jim & Kathy have two adult sons and 4 grandchildren, all of whom are Paul Harris Fellows. One of is proudest moments in Rotary was when they were all presented their Paul Harris Fellows by current International Director Brad Howard at his 2011 District Conference in Reno.
My presentation to your Club will not be about fundraising, but rather a "state of the Foundation", updating some current information, opportunities and encouraging members to get involved in "spending the money available".

Transcendence's Broadway Under The Stars
Nov. 17, 2016
The sensational story behind Transcendence's Broadway Under The Stars award-winning concerts in Sonoma Valley A Performer and the co-founder of Transcendence's Broadway Under The Stars will share the miraculous story that led the group of Broadway artists from the lights of Broadway in NYC to the beaches of Mexico, and then to the vineyards of Sonoma Valley to help save Jack London State Historic Park and establish a permanent home doing award winning concerts in Sonoma County. Stephan is proud to serve the Sonoma County community as the co-Executive Director, Chief Marketing Officer, and co-founder of Transcendence Theatre Company. Known best for its award-winning Broadway Under The Stars concerts, Transcendence has the distinction of having helped save Jack London State Historic Park from closure while contributing over $267,000 to the park in the last five years. Stephan’s performing career has been highlighted by his time on Broadway in “Mary Poppins,” originating roles in the pre-Broadway premiere of “Memphis,” singing an opening act solo for Frank Sinatra, headlining an opening act for Rita Moreno, and working with performing legends on and offstage including Dick Van Dyke, Kristin Chenoweth, Barry Manilow, Martin Short, Jason Alexander, Sutton Foster, Rebekah Luker, Conan O’Brien, and more. Stephan can be seen on almost any given week somewhere in wine country singing for a non-profit cause, pet shelter, concierge group, senior living center, or service group in support of taking life and art to new levels of transcendence. Rebekah joins Transcendence as Marketing Coordinator with a background in both theatre and business. Since graduating from SSU, she has spent her days in the business world, while continuing to perform locally in shows such as THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (Millie) and LITTLE WOMEN (Jo). Having volunteered with Transcendence for the last three years she is thrilled to be on staff full-time. She currently lives in Santa Rosa with her family. |
