Overview

The Stevenson Memorial Trail takes you from the parking lot on Highway 29 to the summit of 4,343-foot Mt. Saint Helena, arguably the most prominent landform visible from the Santa Rosa plain, Sonoma Valley, and Napa Valley. The first mile of the trail  goes past the site of the mining town of Silverado, then switchback through shady single track trail, then the last  4 miles are on a well-graded fire road.  The views are well worth the hike, for a true top-of-the-world experience.  The hike to the summit is 10 miles round trip with a 1,800-foot elevation gain.

Trailhead is about 8 miles from the town of Calistoga up highway 29.  Right at the crest, there is parking lot on either side of highway 29.  We will start the hike from there.

Note:  I will be out of town until Feb 4th…so if you need more information or questions, please send an email and I’ll reply when I get back in town.
