Abilities in Motion Regatta on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 –Possible Volunteer Roles/Jobs for Rotary

Andy asked if Rotary members/family/friends/Interact Members/Rotaract Members might help with the following Volunteer Roles/Jobs.

Parking on Friday and Saturday 8:15am-10:30am – 1-2 volunteers

  • Direct attendees from the road leading to the AIM Boathouse to go in one direction to unload participants and any watercraft.
  • Direct cars to park in designated spots
  • People using personal boats are directed to launch their boats at beach area close by 

Canoe and boat movers Friday and Saturday 8:15: am – 12:30pm- 2 strong and fit volunteers for this job!!

  • Help carry canoes and kayaks from AIM boat house to dock area and back again as needed.  Heaviest canoes are about 65-90 pounds.

Refreshments on Friday and Saturday 10:30am 1:30pm- 2 volunteers

  • Cook hot dogs and serve
  • Organize and set up refreshment area- Water and Juice in coolers, cookies, other snacks hand sanitizer, condiment table
  • All food, beverages and equipment provided by AIM
  • Clean up and pack up supplies…all done by 2pm at latest

Entertainment: 1-2 volunteers- if we get lots of volunteers we could do this 

  • Possibility of overseeing a games area…croquet, Frisbees , whatever you can think of for folks to have fun with

General Information:

  1. All volunteers can register for the event on the AIM website and in doing that you will get a parking /admittance pass so that you do not pay for entrance to the park. If you visit this link and register for the event by filling out the form, you will receive a pass for your day of volunteering.

  1. If you wish to participate in the Regatta and have a paddle in the big canoe, you need to sign up for a time slot on the form above. Please make sure you have someone to cover your volunteer position while you are away canoeing. You will need to complete the waiver form.
  2. Directions to the AIM Boathouse in Earl Rowe will be provided to Volunteers once they sign up.
