Helping Homeless Veterans

First off, on behalf of all club members, I want to thank the veterans within our group for your service to our country on this Veteran's Day.  

 

Second, it is nice to be able to announce on this day that we have a date in place for the distribution of boots and socks to the vets in transitional housing at the VA campus in Lyons.  We will be visiting with the vets and distributing these items on Friday, November 22, in the afternoon.  (They couldn't accommodate us on a weekend.).  

 

The boots are currently on Long Island and will be brought in by our partner from General Needs.  

 

Please let me know if you are available that afternoon, and I will compile a list of volunteers.  We hope to make this an ongoing service project, so if you can't make this one you should have future opportunities.  Remember to invite prospective members to participate.
