Chris Krueger has been working with Andrea Murphy, faculty advisor to the Interact Club which Mesa West sponsors at Westwood High School.Chris has learned there are ten seniors in the club who will not enjoy the typical senior activities because of the COVID-19 pandemic:
- No Prom
- No Graduation
- No Awards Banquets/Assemblies
Chris already has five Rotarians from our club who let her know after she shared her idea during the April 23 Zoom meeting that they would love to adopt-a-senior. She needs at least five more, but it would be awesome if each of the ten were adopted by two or more Rotarians.
Shown in the photo is something that was delivered by the principal to the home of Naomi Sellers who is one of the ten. Naomi spoke to our club last year after she returned from a Global Young Scholars Program she attended at Yale last summer with some financial support from the District 5510 Foundation funds to support youth programs.
