President Jeff called the 12th meeting of the year to order at 12:00.  Trish led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Due to the previous enthusiasm of Jingle Bells, Hoppy led us in an even better repeat.

District Governor Jim Erickson visited to present us with two banners.  We were one of 13 clubs in the District to be a 100% Foundation Giving Club and one of 3,425 in the world to be an Every Rotarian Every Year Club.  Congratulations Flagstaff Rotary Club!

Eric Walden took a moment to remind us to reflect over the next several weeks about what Christmas and the Christmas season means to us personally and as Rotarians.  Spend some time in thought, prayer and reflection.

Jennifer Nordstrom, CPA, from Nordstrom Associates was introduced by Steve.  She is a “student of Dave Ramsey” and told us we spend the first half of our lives building wealth and the second half giving it away!  She addressed the new tax laws that went into effect January 1, saying they were the largest changes since the tax reform of 1986!  Arizona, however, has not yet decided whether to incorporate any of the changes.  Guess they have some work to do when the Legislature goes back to Phoenix!  Even with a large percentage of her clients now taking the standard deduction instead of itemizing,
Jennifer stated that most of them will see a decrease in their Federal taxes.

Eric Wolverton led us in the 4 Way Test.  President Jeff announced that the next meeting will be on January 8, and the meeting was adjourned at 1:00.

Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year!  And Go Cougs (December 28 Alamo Bowl)
