Rotary in the 21st Century
Rushton Hurley is an educator and social benefit entrepreneur who believes this is a great time to teach. In his work, he has taught Japanese language, been principal of an online high school, directed a professional development program, and succeeded in launching and building a nonprofit during one of the truly challenging economic stretches in U.S. history. He loves creativity, collaborative innovation, and laughing at himself. A regular keynote speaker at national and international conferences, he shares ideas on technology and creative approaches to teaching and learning.

A Rotarian since 2004, Rushton has been a member of the San Antonio (Texas) Downtown Club (the world's largest), the Rotary Club of Santa Clara (California), and the Rotary eClub of the Southwest USA, serving as its president in 2013-2014. In January of 2015, he led a team that launched the Rotary eClub of Silicon Valley and serves through June of 2016 as its charter president. His work with eclubs focuses on international collaboration, attracting talented new people to Rotary, and finding ways that modern technologies can serve the business of service
