California Propositions on November ballot

Gloria Hom, a fourth generation California, has been an economist, professor, lecturer, businesswoman, community leader and administrator.  Her civic and community involvement is extensive.

Dr. Hom, was the Chairman of and Professor in the Economics Department at Mission College and Division Chairman for the Social Science.  . Dr. Hom has served on the California State Board of Education and as a Trustee on the California State University System. She was a member of the Advisory Committee of the White House Conference on Library and Information Services appointed by President Ronald Reagan.  Most recently she completed twenty years of service with the Selective Service.

Gloria is active in numerous community and service organizations including the Palo Alto Rotary Club,  and has served as its President. Gloria serves on the Boards of Channing House, Avenidas, Palo Alto Woman’s Club and Chi Am Circle.

Dr. Hom was awarded a Bachelor's degree from Dominican College, San Rafael, a Masters Degree from San Jose State University, and completed a Doctorate in Education in the area of Leadership and Organization at the University of San Francisco.  She did further graduate work at Stanford University and the University of California.
