The Hoover Institution is marking the 100th year of the 1917 Russian Revolution with an exhibit called The Crown under the Hammer: Russia, Romanovs, Revolution.  This exhibition presents "the political, social, and cultural upheavals that transformed Russia in the final decades of the Romanov dynasty and the first years of Soviet Communism."  For more information about the exhibit click here and here.

Curator info:  Bertrand Patenaude, curator and creator of the historical exhibition will discuss the photographs, posters, news reel footage (of Nicholas and Alexandra, Lenin, et al), letters and documents, all arranged to enlighten and surprise. Patenaude is a superb presenter and Rotary will join the scheduled, public tour.  For more information about the curator, click here.

Getting There: Once we know how many people are going, we'll figure out where to park, whether to take the Marguerite Y Shuttle from CalTrain, and/or whether to carpool.

More Revolution at the Cantor Museum: If you are thirsty for more, join Rotary for a tour of the Cantor Art Museum which has a separate collection later next month!  Or walk from the Hoover Institute to the Cantor Museum, lunch at the Cool Café’ and tour the exhibit of Russian art after your Hoover tour.

Благодарим вас (thank you!) and see you there!
