LARAP--Los Altos Rotary AIDS Project

The Los Altos Rotary AIDS Project (LARAP) is a District 5170 program designed to educate, change attitudes and behavior, support those afflicted, and encourage Rotary's involvement in confronting the global scourge of HIV/AIDS.
 The current focus of LARAP is Child AIDS Prevention (CAP) in Africa due to the ongoing pandemic there. Utilizing Rotary Foundation grants, we train healthcare workers in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, particularly training them to counsel pregnant women how to prevent infection of their babies during birth and breastfeeding.
