All the Casino shifts have now been filled. Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers.
Alberta Gaming recently had a draw for casino dates in the second quarter of 2016. The Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona was picked to hold a casino on Thursday April 14th and Friday April 15th 2016. This is the largest fundraiser for our club in terms of revenue generated over a two day period. This revenue is basically divided into two and funds a majority of our community projects, local and international over a two year period. Every able member of our club is requested to step up to the plate and sign up for one of more shifts. Only the following key positions, marked with an asterisk (*), require a "Casino Volunteer Worker Application" form to be completed: If you have any questions about the casino event, contact Patrick Gibson, 780-982-6741 For technical assistance, contact Hans Granholm, 780-466-5566 |

The Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona has signed up to provide a crew of volunteers at a new landscaping site in Edmonton. Location details will follow We need twelve volunteers and there are still vacant spots available. This is your official confirmation. I have attached two documents: the “Group Members List” and the “Group Construction Volunteer Package” When we know your exact location I will send you a map to give to each of the participants. Note: We are committed to the safety of you and your group members. NO volunteer will work on a Habitat for Humanity Edmonton construction site without first:
It is critically important, for your own safety, that you open the "Construction Volunteer Package" attached. Please hardcopy and keep for your record. Please also make note of a very important safety criterion: Your MUST be on site prior to the 8:15 am (0815) posted time as this is when the safety drill starts. If you miss the safety drill you will not be allowed on the site. Lunch will be provided on site. If you have special dietary concerns, please bring your own lunch. Jun. 16, 2016 5:45 p.m.
The Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona meets on the third Thursday of the month. Time and place above. To celebrate the board’s last meeting, I propose to hold the final board meeting on Thursday, June 16 at my residence commencing at 6 pm. Irene will be working so that food will have to be brought in. I do not wish to expose the Board to my cooking and risk attendance at the turnover dinner. My address is 454 Estate Drive, Sherwood Park. Those who attended the December meeting and those with a GPS will find their way. For “newcomers”, I suggest that you drive either via the Sherwood Park freeway or the Whitemud Drive. On the Sherwood Park freeway, head east until you have crossed Brentwood Blvd. You will see the CBC Tower on the left side; head right into the Estates of Sherwood Park. Upon entering the Estates, turn left at the T-Intersection, then right into our cul-de-sac at the second intersection. The house is the bungalow straight ahead. If you come via the Whitemud , proceed east until you reach Range Road 232 (past the traffic lights and going slightly downhill). Turn left and head north on RR 232 until you pass Salisbury Greenhouses. Then turn right onto Estate Drive and travel for approximately 1 km when you turn left into our cul-de-sac. The agenda will be sent later. Harald Kuckertz, President Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona |
