Alice Tripp Legislative Director, Texas State Rifl

Alice Tripp is the lobbyist and Legislative Director for the Texas State Rifle Association.

TSRA is the largest NRA state affiliate and as a wholly separate association with 45,000 Texas members.  The association is self-funded and works with NRA in a spirit of harmony and cooperation.

Alice has lobbied in Austin on behalf of gun owners since 1998.   She continues to be the only full-time, registered pro-gun lobbyist in the state.  Her NRA counterpart (also female) covers 3 additional states, including New Mexico, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

TSRA’s legislative mission continues to be the fewest possible restrictions on law-abiding Texas gun owners.   Over the past decade Ms. Tripp has worked to pass bills broadening personal protection, bills to protect shooting ranges, to safeguard hunting opportunities, and legislation to streamline the concealed handgun license.

This session Governor Abbott signed our 5 of priority bills including Licensed Open Carry and Campus.

Besides legislative goals, TSRA is involved in many forms of competitive shooting, youth safety outreach programs, Women in the Shooting sports programs, and gun collecting programs.
