On Thursday, April 30, 2015, Marine veteran and accomplished Houston businessman, Bill Sherrill addressed the North Shore Rotary Club with the story of his childhood and enlistment into the Marine Corps at the age of 15.  His presentation included a recollection of his childhood day, his days as a soldier and his experiences during the battle of Iwo Jima.  Bill's life experiences reminded us that no matter where you start out in life, you can accomplish many great things if you have the right attitude, commitment and spirit.  You can listen to Bill's presentation and moving story of his life of an earlier time in our country when patriotism, sacrifice and honor was widely prevalent among the citizens of these United States.
 
Bill Sherrill has lead many entrepreneurial efforts, from start-ups to turnarounds, in fields as diverse as real estate development, electronics, manufacturing, banking, and finance. He also has an impressive record of achievement in government and corporate life. Mr. Sherrill was twice appointed as a Governor of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board, and also has served as Director of the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), President of Associates Corporation of North America, and Director of Gulf and Western Industries, Inc.
 
A native Houstonian and alumnus of the University of Houston, where he was President of his class, Mr. Sherrill has returned to his alma mater to make a difference in education as founder and Co-Chairman of the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship.
