Speaker: Lisa Hawthornthwaite, Senior Patient Experience Specialist, LHSC

Lisa Hawthornthwaite is the Senior Patient Experience Specialist with Quality, Patient Safety and the Patient Experience Office.  She began her career in health care 25 years ago in Paediatrics as a Child Life Specialist.  For the past several years she has been working with staff and leaders to help advance Patient and Family Centred Care as a model of care.  She is very passionate about building and sustaining meaningful partnerships with patients and families in everything we do and promotes this partnership in the areas of quality improvement, program development, policy, hospital orientation, education and decision making.  LHSC is committed to bringing the patient voice more formally into the organization and she is here today to highlight some of the work underway at LHSC to better understand patient perceptions of care across the continuum of care and use this to improve the Patient and Family Experience.  Her presentation will be:  "Enhancing the Patient Experience at LHSC:  Learning from those we serve". ​
