2015:  100 YEARS OF ROTARY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN LONDON

A SHOUT OUT (and reach out) TO ALL ROTARIANS

As you are aware (and we intend to make you more aware!), President Gary C.K. Huang will be here for our 100^th Anniversary Celebrations in March of this year.

President Huang is urging all Rotary members to LIGHT UP ROTARY by organizing a Rotary Day in 2015.

The concept is simple: hold a fun, informal event in your community to introduce the public to your Club and Rotary. You’ll not only improve Rotary’s image in your community, you’ll also boost interest in joining your club.

We are thrilled that Rotary International President Gary Huang and his wife Corinna will be joining us for the weekend of March 20/21. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for all Rotarians in our District (and beyond) to "Light Up Rotary" and celebrate together!

Friday March 20th 2015:

Celebration of Service

Canadian Club luncheon RIP Gary Huang is Guest Speaker presenting a “Salute to Volunteers”. The mandate of the Canadian Club is to Share and Promote our Passion for Canada. Gary's presentation will reflect the passion Rotarians and huge array of volunteer organizations have to get things done at the grass roots here in Canada!

Celebration of Community and Youth

5:00 to 7:00 CTV2 London is hosting an Anniversary Celebration inside Covent Market Garden to celebrate Rotary's contribution to Rotary Square located just outside the market. Rotary Clubs in London first were involved with the creation of the Rotary Rink and will be dedicating the new addition of the Clock in the Tower.

7:00 to 10:00 is a London Knights hockey game and we will celebrate District 6330 youth including Youth Exchange, Rotaract, Interact, Global Grant Scholarships, and other scholarship recipients throughout the district.

Family Day Event – Fanshawe Pioneer Village

Official Opening by the President of Rotary International:  Rotary Historic Exhibition: Trillium Hall – 11:00 AM

Trillium Gallery Rotary Display - A local Anniversary project, the Fanshawe Pioneer Village Rotary History display in the Spriet Family Center (Trillium Hall), documents the history of the Rotary Club of London, our Legacy Clubs and an iron lung respirator used for individuals with polio.​

Winter in the Pioneer Village - The ‘good old days’:Saturday March 21, 2015: 12:00 to 3:00 PM

Enjoy a free pancake brunch supplied by Rotarians. This is a  Family event of great interest to children and Fun for All. This awe-inspiring take-you-back-in-time experience for the whole family will continue throughout the year to enjoy – but join us and be one of the first to see it on this great celebratory weekend. 

• Hot drinks and treats in the Village Café
• Self-Guided Tours with visual map (or Smartphone app)
• Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides for families through the Village
• Storefront Interpreters (to talk about Storefronts Projects)
• Snowshoe demonstrations and tryouts (depending on weather)
• Snowman building contest on Village Green
• Village pancake and sausage cook out in the village

Rotary International President Gary Huang Gala Event

We are thrilled that Gary Huang and his wife Corinna will be joining us for the Gala Event. This is culmination of a spectacular weekend of events and an opportunity of a lifetime for all Rotarians in our District (and beyond) to celebrate together (and get to meet Gary and his wife)!
