Why Does Open Space Matter?

Boise has some excellent open spaces -- for outdoor recreation, wildlife habitat, and clean water. But maintaining our foothills and reserves takes time and effort. Martha Brabec, the foothills restoration specialist for the Boise Department of Parks and Recreation, will talk to the Eagle-Garden City club about the long-term plan for the partnership among local Rotary clubs, the Boy Scouts, and Timberline High School. These partners are committed to doing restoration work in Hulls Gulch this year. It should be a great presentation on why open space matters and how we can chip in to help on restoration projects, specifically the planting project in Hulls Gulch.
