Friday's annual District Conference, even though it was virtual, was a lot of fun! The theme was "Making Mole Hills out of Mountains". Governor Ben Nelson did a fine job reviewing the events of his year and passing the gavel onto his successor, Russ Johnson, from Idaho Falls. The winner of the big raffle ticket was Kaci Jensen, who sold it to herself! So Kaci gets $9,000 worth of travel and Centennial Rotary Club, her club, gets $4,500!!
The featured speaker of the evening was Ed Viesturs from Ketchum. Ed is a professional Mountaineer. He's climbed all 14 of the "8,000s" in the Himalayas. His program, entitled "No Shortcuts to the Top", told about the preparation and training required to be successful....and "success" doesn't necessarily mean you made it to the summit! By the way, if you want to try it, Annapurna is the hardest!
