 |  Last week's field trip to the Highway Department's testing lab was awesome! This is the place where they pull, pound, stretch, break, crush, bake, cook, submerge, freeze all manner of road and bridge materials. |
 |  This is where they test every imaginable road material from striping, bridge abutments, asphalt, concrete, rebar, bolts, ice melt, rocks and gravel, fly ash and lots more! They have this giant press which will stretch a piece of rebar until it snaps! |
