This past week was a busy one at the weekly lunch for The Rotary Club of The Woodlands - mostly focused around students in the area!

First of all, we were pleased to have a number of students from our Oak Ridge High School Interact Club at today’s meeting.  The club has grown dramatically this year.  The board shared their experience with 300 hours of service from their club including International Best Buddies.

Second, Randy Kruchten recognized a number of Outstanding Students from The Woodlands High School and College Park High Schools.  These students were selected through their outstanding performance in academics, strength of character, athletics, community service and performance in the arts.

Next, Catie Spivey of Congressman Brady’s office also joined us to share a Congressional Proclamation that club member and Congressman Kevin Brady read on the floor in recognition of the Club’s 40th Anniversary.

We closed out with our guest speaker today, this year’s Rotary Exchange Student from Italy, Sofie.  She took us on a tour of Italy sharing her local insights on the best places to visit, some history of the country and differences in how Italy is perceived versus what it is really like to live there.  She was joined by two of her host families as well.
