Serving Our Seniors

Come n out, get your hands dirty and help out others in our community!  Families are encouraged.

Serving Our Seniors, “SOS” assists seniors with maintaining their homes to help them remain independent.  This program is for seniors 62 and older that reside within Interfaith’s service area.  The Rotary Club of The Woodlands will work alongside volunteers from Interact, corporations, congregations and other civic groups to serve in the community and complete projects such as: fence repairs, painting, yard maintenance and beautification, power washing/mildew removal, roof clean off and gutter clean out.  In addition to the volunteers, Interfaith will hire contractors to complete tasks such as tree removal, deck repairs, siding repairs, and electrical/plumbing repairs.

All volunteers arrive at Interfaith, 4242 Interfaith Way, 77381 on Saturday October 11^th  at 7:30am  for volunteer check-in, breakfast and to receive job assignments and supplies.  Interfaith will provide everything needed to complete the job.  We are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing to work outside, and a lot of people prefer to bring their own work gloves.

The day usually wraps up between 12:30 and 2:30 , depending on the work required at the job site you were assigned.  This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity, volunteers of all ages are welcome.  If a volunteer is under 13, they must have a parent/guardian volunteer with them.  Pre-registration is required for every volunteer and the forms will be emailed out mid-August and also available online at www.woodlandsinterfaith.org.  They do need to be turned in prior to the event and the deadline  will be printed on the bottom of the registration form.
