Join us for our monthly mobile food distribution!!
Join us for our regularly scheduled food distribution for Novemberr 2021 at Hometown Heroes Park. Volunteers will need to meet at Hometown Heroes Park at 11:30 AM. The truck will arrive at noon, and we will begin distribution by 1 PM but more likley by 12:30 PM if not sooner.
The Galveston County Food Bank has also issued guidelines for us to follow.
· all clients will remain in their vehicles at all times,
· food will be placed in the trunk of a car or bed of a truck, should a client need food to go in the back seat, we will leave the food on the side of the vehicle, back away 6 feet and the client will need to place the food inside their car,
· volunteers must wear gloves if possible
· Masks are OPTIONAL
Closed toe shoes are REQUIRED
· food must be bagged and boxed before being given to a client.
· No food can be placed on the ground even if it is a box or bag unless you are leaving it by the car for the family
· BRING YOUR OWN WATER TO DRINK with YOUR NAME ON THE BOTTLE
· Strongly encourage you to wear a hat to keep you from touching your face
Please be cognizant of your own personal health and safety needs. Do not feel obligated to volunteer. IF you are an individual who is considered at higher risk for contracting COVID-19, think about your own health and risk level before you decide to volunteer. I would much rather see you in the future than see you get sick. I will welcome anyone who wants to attend and help.
