On January 21st, Rotarians, friends, and family members enjoyed the ever popular and exciting Rotary Night at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. Many chose to experience the event by arriving early and viewing the livestock, checking out the myriad of vendors in the Exhibit Hall, viewing the wonderful collection of art exhibited at the annual Coors Western Art Show and Sale, and enjoying dinner in the exclusive National Western Club prior to the PRCA Rodeo.

President Tom, our Brazilian exchange student, Tiago, and Rick Clark met a young lady and her father from Iowa who were showing their Black Angus cattle. They were preparing one of their animals to compete in judging and it so happened that Tom, Tiago and Rick got to see the animal being presented by the young lady. Although the animal didn’t make the final cut, it was very interesting to watch the process and gain a little better understanding of the enormous effort in raising livestock and showing them. The young lady is hopeful that the sale of that specific animal will provide much needed money toward her college education.
