IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE AFTER RETIREMENT OR 60 YEARS OLD

(Noon Meeting) GENE DIONNE
IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE AFTER RETIREMENT OR 60 YEARS OLD

Our own Littleton Rotary member Gene Dionne is unusually physically active for a 70+ year old, and we have asked him to give a presentation on why and how he accomplishes this. The why will be explained in the context of a commitment made to himself and his spouse when he retired, a little overweight, at age 62 from Lockheed Martin. (Before that Gene was a 26 year Air Force systems acquisition officer.) The how will be demonstrated with charts and photographs/videos from his worldwide adventures plus some on-site demonstrations. Several other members may join him in the demonstrations. This should be an interesting and enjoyable look at how to improve our lives through working more exercise into our regular life, trying to eliminate one of the three preventable causes of premature death and/or reducing physical decline, as well as introducing the concepts of activity groups and  "kedging" to motivate us to keep fit.
