HOW CAN WE FOSTER CONVERSATION TO BRIDGE OUR DIVIDES?

According to USA TODAY: “Americans are united on this: they are sick and tired of being divided.”  More than 9 out of 10 said it is important for the United States to try to reduce that divide.
  • LET’S TALK…is a program produced by the Peace Committee of Rotary International District 5450.  It will teach skills and techniques enabling participants to engage in effective and meaningful conversations.  Through this process we will deepen understanding across our differences.
  • LET’S TALKis a learning workshop that begins with an experience in conversation focused on what makes these discussions so difficult.  Then via teach-ins and group exercises, we will cover essential practices that make constructive conversations possible among people with divergent views and backgrounds.
  • LET’S TALKwill teach skills used in all aspects of everyday life.  Whether you are talking sports or politics while waiting in line or are a city manager discussing development versus slow growth, these skills are essential for positive outcomes.  These techniques will elevate your position, your confidence, and will bring greater comfort in all day-to-day interactions.
